Job Description:
As a Composite Technician you will work in the manufacturing operations arena and will be assigned to one:of a:kind and development activities.
Tasks include:
: Material preparation and hand lay:up, complex tool set:up and precision bonding.
: Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
: Uses predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to create precision structures or components while making adjustments and modifications per drawings and procedures.
: Participates in program or functional team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling
Minimum Requirements:
: High School diploma or GED required
: Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience, with 2 years composite preferred
: Experience in and /or knowledge of tooling, mandrels and fixtures for lay:up.
: Ability to fabricate materials into composite parts and assemblies using pre:preg and wet lay:up techniques and various required materials.
: Perform materials kitting : Perform bonding operations using weight and mix procedures for resins and adhesives.
: Able to test and maintain vacuum valves and hoses for autoclave processes.
: Able/willing provide training to others as required.
: Work independently with high degree of initiative and be part of a team.
: Ability to follow procedures and directions with minimal supervision
: Able to obtain a security clearance
: US citizen
Position can be filled at a lower level Composite Technician 06 min of 1 years of exp with High school diploma
Desired but not required
: Experiences serving as team lead a plus
: Painting/prepping experience a plus
: Program computer:controlled curing equipment (ovens, hot presses and autoclaves) to properly cure composites a plus
: Knowledge of other methods of composite processing a plus (RTM, VARTM, filament winding, etc.) Exposure to 5S, Kaizen
